From a base in Fort William you will be visiting one of the most beautiful places the West Highlands has to offer. Not only will you walk you will play your part in learning how to look after them for your grandchildren to visit.

The trip will have a theme of conservation throughout and we will be looking at the impact we can have hiking and wild camping.

The walks will be of a moderate difficulty so are open to most people of reasonable fitness.

Really an opportunity to enjoy the Highlands, visit new places, meet new people and help the places you love.

You can also lessen your environmental impact by catching the train or bus to Fort William.

Accommodation for the trip can be found on my accommodation page. Something to suit every budget

Steall Falls and Mystery Bothy

4th and 5th May 2019 Group Event

Day 1

We will meet in the am for a chat about the weekend and an introduction to each other. We will take a packed lunch with us to eat on our walk. The walk itself to Steall Falls is personally my favourite that I guide on a regular basis. The walk is around 5km round trip on rocky paths. It will take around 2-3 hours at a leisurely pace.

Day 2

We will spend the day visiting a mystery bothy for lunch. The West Highlands has numerous bothies so we have plenty of choice. The choice will be based on the fitness and ability of the group. We will discuss the fabulous work the Mountain Bothy Association does with their army of volunteers and how we can help them. After a leisurely lunch we will take out any rubbish left behind and give the place a deep.

Not included are food and accommodation costs as part of the trip. You will be expected to provide your own lunch and snacks for when we are out and about. A table will be booked for dinner each night at 7pm or thereabouts. It's optional and can be decided as you go.

Included is transport from meeting point in Fort William and a years membership of Friends of Nevis
